Arsenal's Salmon pens pre-contract agreement: I just want to give everything to the club
Arsenal youngster Marli Salmon has signed a pre-contract agreement with the club as he looks towards the future.
Salmon's first-team Premier League debut came after he was an unused substitute for the first time in the Premier League in December’s game against Aston Villa.
Aged 16 years and 102 days old, he made his European debut against Club Brugge as he became the fourth-youngest player to represent the North London side in European competitions.
Now, as he prepares to turn 17, he has signed a deal that will see him commit his future to the side in a deal that reports suggest will last until 2029.
Speaking to the club website after putting pen to paper, Salmon said he wants to keep improving and pushing his level higher and higher.
“It's a very big moment for me, for my family as well. I'm very proud. I’ve been at the academy since I was nine and I just want to give everything to the club.
“I’m an Arsenal supporter, and I’ve had some great memories so far. I’m so proud to have made my debut this season, I just want to keep pushing on still, keep my levels high and try to get as much experience as I can in the first team.”
He follows Max Dowman in reaching a pre-contract agreement, another talented star who will sign a professional deal when he turns 17.
