7M - Maguire Banned for Chelsea Clash After FA Charge

Harry Maguire will sit out Manchester United's Premier League fixture at Chelsea this Saturday following an additional one-match suspension imposed by the Football Association. The 33-year-old defender was penalized for his conduct after receiving a straight red card during last month's 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
Maguire was dismissed for a foul on Evanilson, which led to a Junior Kroupi penalty that helped Bournemouth secure the draw. Fourth official Matthew Donohue filed a report alleging Maguire directed insulting language toward match officials while leaving the pitch. Although Maguire maintained his remarks were not aimed at any individual, he admitted to the FA charge of improper conduct. The governing body announced on Wednesday that he would serve an extended ban and pay a £30,000 ($41,000) fine.
The suspension adds to United's defensive challenges. Centre-back partners Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez are also unavailable. De Ligt has been sidelined with a back injury since November, while Martinez begins a three-match ban after being sent off in Monday's 2-1 home loss to Leeds for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin's hair following a VAR review.
Caretaker manager Michael Carrick described Martinez's dismissal as "one of the worst I've seen," and the club has appealed the decision. With three senior centre-backs absent, teenage defender Ayden Heaven may partner 20-year-old Leny Yoro against Chelsea.
United currently sit third in the Premier League table, seven points ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea.
