Chivu to be rewarded with new Inter Milan contract

Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu is set to sign a new contract.

Inter are top of Serie A , nine points ahead of Napoli with six games remaining, and have reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals, where they will host Como after a goalless draw in the first leg.

Inter's management have been impressed with the Romanian's work in his first0 season in charge and is already planning his contract renewal.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, despite having another year on his current contract, Chivu is close to signing a new deal until 2028, with an option for an additional season. This deal will include a significant salary increase.

All indications are that Inter management and coach are waiting to secure the league title before finalising the contract and announcing it publicly.
