Ibrahima Konate edging closer to new Liverpool deal

Ibrahima Konate is reportedly getting closer to signing a new deal at Liverpool.

The 26-year-old’s current deal at Anfield is set to expire at the end of the season, with the two parties locked in discussion for months.

Real Madrid have previously been interested in a move for Konate, but some iffy performances this season has seen that interest cool.

According to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins, the Frenchman is closer than ever to signing a new deal at Liverpool.

It’s understood that while no formal agreement has been reached yet, it is now considered likely that Konate will commit to the club.

A four- or five-year deal is in the works with more talks expected to be held after Liverpool Champions League quarter final second leg clash with PSG.
