Bayern Munich chief Dreesen warns players of Real Madrid comeback quality
Bayern Munich chief exec Jan-Christian Dreesen addressed the players after their first-leg Champions League win at Real Madrid last week.
Bayern will defend a 2-1 lead in the second-leg this week in Germany and it's now emerged what Dreesen told the players at a team dinner following the first-leg.
Dreesen said, "It's a fantastic game situation, one we can be very happy with, but we're only 1-0 up. If someone had told us before the game that we'd end up like this , we would have been very happy with the result.
"Real Madrid has the quality to turn a game like this around at any moment. They have Vinicius and (Kylian) Mbapp9, as we saw today. They have that quality, but we have it too.
"I'd like to ask for a round of applause for our fantastic team today and for our coach Vincent Kompany. Today is your 100th official match with FC Bayern and we are especially grateful to you. You have prepared this team exceptionally well for this opponent, for the match and, above all, for this stadium.
"Today, in the match, we had something that Madrid didn't have. We had our X factor, our forty-something, our world-class goalkeeper. Manuel, you were extraordinary today , and I just wanted to say that."
