Kellini: We’re delighted with Juventus’s new signing… and we’re not concerned about Milan’s slip-up

Juventus is reshaping its new project.

Juventus is undergoing rapid behind-the-scenes changes as it reshapes its sporting project for the coming seasons, yet internal messages confirm satisfaction with the current direction and the technical stability provided by the coaching staff led by Luciano Spalletti.

Sporting director Giorgio Chiellini has welcomed the new deal, which sees the Italian manager commit to the club until June 2028.

The move underscores the club’s commitment to technical continuity.

Planning for Juventus’ future

“I’ve been telling you for weeks, even months, that Spalletti’s contract renewal wouldn’t be a problem, so I’m glad you no longer have to ask me about it,” Chiellini told Sky Sport Italia and DAZN Italia with a smile.

He added that the outcome was “expected, though not a foregone conclusion, and it’s the natural end to the process that began when he arrived. Now we’ll focus on the final matches of the season, then we’ll plan the future together.”

There’s no time to make it up

Speaking about the race for European places, Chiellini added: “We’re not particularly concerned about Milan’s result (today’s 3-0 defeat to Udinese); we’re focused on what we need to do, as there are other teams such as Atalanta, Como and Roma who are our direct rivals.”

“The race may go down to the wire, so direct clashes like tonight’s game could be decisive, because there’s little margin for error.”

On the evening’s fixture he noted, “Atalanta are a strong side with excellent results, and they have the added advantage of home support tonight.”

Juventus are without Weston McKennie (“The Joker”) due to suspension, while Dusan Vlahovic, Vasilije Adzic and Mattia Perin are sidelined through injury.

The Boja deal is done, paving the way for the club’s planned rebuild.

Asked about Pogba’s future after his recent stint as a false nine, and whether Juventus would make his €4.8 million move from Olympique de Marseille permanent, Chiellini replied: “He has settled in very well and his price is reasonable, so we’ll assess the situation at the end of the season, but it’s clear we’d be very happy to keep him. His future is likely to be with Juventus.”

Kellini added: “Our strategy is to build a team capable of winning in the coming years. Some things may change if we qualify for the Champions League, but we’ll evaluate that in due course.”
