Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has expressed interest in bringing two Bayern Munich stars back to Anfield, stating he "would not mind" welcoming Luis Diaz while he "would love" to sign Michael Olise.
Diaz, who departed Liverpool for Bayern in an $88.1 million deal last summer, is enjoying a standout debut campaign in Germany. The Colombian forward has recorded 23 goals and 15 assists across 40 appearances, marking career-high figures. His recent strike in Bayern's 2-1 Champions League quarterfinal victory over Real Madrid further highlighted his impact.
Speaking on TNT Sports ahead of the Champions League clash, Gerrard admitted, "I would not mind Diaz back. I am missing him." Despite the nostalgia, Diaz has voiced no regrets about his move, affirming, "Deciding to join Bayern was the right choice. I am really happy and I enjoy every match."
With Mohamed Salah confirmed to leave Liverpool following the 2025-26 season, Gerrard identified Olise as an ideal successor. The French winger has contributed 46 goals and assists this term for Bayern. When asked about signing Olise, Gerrard replied, "All day long. But the problem is, why would he leave Bayern?" He added, "Would I take him at Liverpool? Yes, I would love him."
Olise remains under contract with Bayern until 2029, making any transfer unlikely despite Liverpool's reported interest. Meanwhile, Liverpool sit fifth in the Premier League and prepare to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarterfinals, while Bayern lead the Bundesliga and contend for multiple trophies.
