Enzo Fernendez's agent hits out at "completely unfair" Chelsea suspension
Javier Pastore, agent of Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, has slammed the club for their decision to suspend him for their next two games.
Fernandez, 25, was very vocal about his admiration for Real Madrid and his ambition to live in the Spanish capital throughout the international break.
Speaking to reporters ahead of their FA Cup quarter final on Saturday (April 4), Liam Rosenior said that Fernandez had “crossed a line.”
Chelsea have since decided to suspend the midfielder for their next two games against Port Vale and Man City as punishment.
Pastore has now come out to slam the decision to suspend his client to The Athletic, saying: "The punishment is completely unfair.
“Banning the player for two matches, which moreover are also absolutely crucial for Chelsea because qualification for the Champions League is at stake and he is one of the team’s most important players.
"Enzo didn’t understand the situation. When the coach told him, he accepted it because he’s a highly professional guy who’s always fully committed wherever he is and respects decisions, but we don’t understand the punishment because he doesn’t mention any club or say he wants to leave Chelsea, far from it.
“He explained that the player chose Madrid because the language and culture reminded him of Buenos Aires, noting "at no point does he say he wants to leave Chelsea or London".
