Cyprus claimed a 3-2 victory over Moldova in an international friendly played in Nicosia on March 30 2026. The hosts dominated the opening period with three first-half goals before Moldova mounted a second-half rally that fell just short.

Grigoris Kastanos opened the scoring for Cyprus early in the match. Charalampos Charalampous then added a brace to extend the home side's advantage to 3-0 before halftime.
After the break both teams introduced multiple substitutions. Moldova seized the initiative and improved their attacking play. Petru Popescu pulled one back before Victor Stina added a second goal to make it 3-2. Despite late pressure the visitors could not find an equalizer.
The result carries added significance for Armenia. The Armenian national team is scheduled to face Moldova in a friendly on June 9 and will meet Cyprus twice in the UEFA Nations League on October 2 and November 12.
Both sides entered this match coming off defeats. Moldova had lost 2-0 to Lithuania while Cyprus fell 1-0 to Belarus in their previous outings.
