France secured a 3-1 victory over Colombia in an international friendly at Northwest Stadium in Maryland on Sunday local time. Desire Doue scored twice for the French side, with Marcus Thuram adding another goal. Jaminton Campaz netted a consolation strike for Colombia.
The match opened with both teams exchanging attacks. Colombia's James Rodriguez tested France goalkeeper Brice Samba with a long-range effort, but the shot was safely collected. France took the lead in the 29th minute when Doue found the net. Thuram doubled the advantage before halftime, converting a Maghnes Akliouche assist with a header in the 41st minute.
Doue completed his brace in the 56th minute, finishing a Thuram pass to make it 3-0. Colombia refused to give up, with Jhon Cordoba forcing a save from Samba. Campaz pulled one back in the 77th minute, capitalizing on a Jefferson Lerma delivery. Despite late pressure, France held on for their second consecutive win on the US tour, following last week's 2-1 victory over Brazil. Colombia goalkeeper Alvaro Montero made several saves, including denying Doue a hat-trick opportunity.
