South Korea suffered a heavy 0-4 loss to Ivory Coast in an international friendly at Stadium MK Milton Keynes on March 28 2026.
The result extends a difficult run for head coach Hong Myung-bo following a 0-5 defeat to Brazil in October 2025.
Captain Son Heung-min shared his frustration after the match noting the emotional impact of the outcome. Ivory Coast found the net through Guessand in the 35th minute and Wilfried Singo among other contributors.
Hong Myung-bo deployed a three defender formation as a tactical alternative but the adjustment failed to strengthen the squad.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup three months away the South Korean team must quickly address defensive issues and rebuild confidence.
Son Heung-min stressed the need to learn from this result ahead of tougher challenges at the global tournament.
