DONE DEAL: Antoine Griezmann agrees to join Orlando City as he leaves Atletico Madrid

Orlando City have announced the signing of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.

The Atl9tico Madrid star and French World Cup winner has officially joined the MLS side in a deal that will be completed once the season concludes.

Griezmann, the all-time leading scorer in Atletico Madrid’s history will wave an emotional goodbye to the side as he switches continent in the final stages of his career.

Speaking on the move, the France international says he cannot wait to get started with the side after positive talks.

“I am very excited to begin this next chapter of my career with Orlando City,” said Griezmann. “From my first conversations with the Club, I could feel a strong ambition and a clear vision for the future, and that really spoke to me.

“I look forward to making Orlando my new home, meeting the supporters, feeling the energy at Inter&Co Stadium, and giving everything I have to help the team achieve great things.”

He has been linked with multiple MLS clubs in the past, including LAFC, Chicago Fire, and Inter Miami but is is Orlando who caught his eye in the end as he made the decision to depart Europe.
