Man Utd stars Sesko and Mbeumo pull out of international duty in huge boost for Carrick
Manchester United stars Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko have pulled out of international duty.
Mbeumo had to be replaced in United's 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Friday after 71 minutes as Sesko replaced the Cameroon international.
Now, Mbeumo will miss Cameroon’s upcoming friendlies against Australia and China "as a precaution" whilst Sesko is also from Slovenia duty as the pair remain at Carrington to return to full fitness.
The BBC reports that the Red Devils expect both players to be fit for their clash with rivals Leeds at Old Trafford in the top-flight on April 13th as they challenge for a Champions League spot this season.
Despite Sesko and Mbuemo pulling out, Noussair Mazraoui recovered from his illness and has now joined up with the Morocco squad for their games against Ecuador and Paraguay.
With seven games left to play in the season, United are 3rd, one point above Aston Villa in fourth as their fine run under Carrick continues despite a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at the weekend.
United have an 85.57 per cent chance of making Champions League football this season, according to the latest Opta predictions.
Carrick is the leading candidate to get the United job full-time and the return of Sesko and Mbeumo to full fitness will only help his chances of getting the job.
