Scamacca a major doubt for crucial Italy World Cup play-offs
Atalanta striker Gianluca Scamacca is now a major doubt for Italy's upcoming World Cup play-offs due to injury.
The 27-year-old was called up by Gennaro Gattuso but has since suffered an adductor tear while still with his club.
According to TMW, Scamacca remains determined to help his country qualify for this summer’s tournament despite the setback.
His availability for the game against Northern Ireland remains uncertain, however, with medical staff still conducting final tests.
Should Italy beat Northern Ireland, they will face either Bosnia and Herzegovina or Wales.
