England coach Thomas Tuchel has named an extended squad for friendlies at Wembley Stadium against Uruguay on 27 March and Japan on 31 March.

It is a 35-man squad, with the selection the penultimate ahead of Tuchel selecting his World Cup line-up.

It sees recalls for Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo, while AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori is back for the first time since October 2023.

Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin returns after more than five years awayp and Tottenham's Dominic Solanke makes his first squad since October 2024.

But there is no place for Real Madrid full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

"We decided to divide it into basically two camps almost," Tuchel said of his decision to select a 35-man squad.

"So we bring players in that we haven't seen, who haven't played so much, to open up the picture and the competition for plane tickets to the US."
