Flick confirms Laporta words over new Barcelona contract
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick says his new contract agreement will be a formality.
Following up on Barca president Joan Laporta declaring on Sunday that a new deal had been settled, Flick has now stated he will soon put pen to paper.
Ahead of tonight's Champions League clash with Newcastle, Flick said: "I think it's clear that I like working here, but I also value my independence.
"I have a great family and a lot of support. This is football, and I try to give my best to the team... but we'll see. There's time. I'm not thinking about going anywhere else. This will be my last job and that makes me happy."
The German added: 0"I don't think it's the right time to talk about my contract renewal now. There's an important match for the club and for our future. I'm very happy here, but I need to talk to my family. There will be time to discuss all of this."
Flick's current deal runs to 2027 and the new offer will extend his stay to 2028.
