Liverpool boss Arne Slot provides positive Alexander Isak update

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has provided a positive update on injured striker Alexander Isak ahead of their Champions League clash with Galatasaray.

Isak, 26, has been out of action after breaking his leg in Liverpool’s 2-1 Premier League win over Tottenham in December.

Sign for a British record 3125 million, the striker has scored just three goals in 16 games since joining from Newcastle.

Speaking to reporters ahead of their round of 16 second leg against Galatasaray, Slot has provided a positive update.

“Alex is not available for tomorrow,” Slot confirmed. “But the fact that you see him on the pitch tells you he gets closer and closer to joining us again.”

When asked for a specific date, the Dutchman added: “Not really. He will not be available for Saturday (away at Brighton) as well. As long as you don’t train with the team yet you are not ready to play.”
