Barcelona 'closely following' closely following Benfica winger Schjelderup

Barcelona are reportedly 'closely following' the progress of Benfica's Andreas Schjelderup as they seek to sign a new winger this summer.

The 21-year-old is having a fine season in the Portuguese capital, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in his 38 games.

According to O Jogo (via Sport), Barcelona sent scouts to watch Schjelderup in Benfica’s 2-1 Liga Portugal win over Arouca on Saturday (March 14).

One club official telling the outlet that “we are closely following Schjelderup’s evolution. His potential is undeniable and our observations have been very positive”.

It’s understood that the club are weighing their option on the left wing as a permanent move for Marcus Rashford could prove tricky.
