Reportedly, she will return to Iran via Malaysia. Her departure follows the lead of Zahra Soltan Meshkehkar, Mona Hamoudi, and Zahra Sarbali, who also retracted their asylum bids amid fears of threats against their families in Iran. Former Iranian national futsal player Shiva Amini confirmed these threats, stating they had become unbearable.

As the ongoing political climate in Iran continues to affect the players, the Iranian media has praised Ghanbari's choice to go back, framing it as a patriotic decision. Meanwhile, the team previously made headlines for their silent protest during the national anthem at the Asia Cup.

Ghanbari and her teammates face immense pressure as they navigate the realities of their situation while striving for their safety and future.
