Chelsea set to sign Strasbourg midfielder Barco

Chelsea intend to sign Valentin Barco from Strasbourg this summer.

Brighton signed Barco, 21, from Boca Juniors in January 2024.

However, he struggled to make an impact with the Seagulls. In the summer of 2024, he was loaned to Sevilla, and in January 2025 to RC Strasbourg.

The transfer to the French club was made permanent this past summer, and once in Ligue 1, the Argentine has rebuilt his career.

In France, Barco has been transformed from a left back to a central midfielder - and it has been a successful move.

Now Guillem Balague reports that Chelsea is about to sign the player from their French sister club.

Barco is expected to sign a long-term contract with Chelsea this summer.
