Borussia Dortmund fend off Premier League giants with new Felix Nmecha deal

Felix Nmecha has put pen to paper on a new contract at Borussia Dortmund despite interest from several Premier League clubs.

The 25-year-old is having a fantastic season at Borussia Dortmund scoring two goals and providing three assists in his 25 Bundesliga games.

Dortmund have now confirmed that Nmecha has signed a new deal at the club, keeping him there until 2030, adding two years to his previous contract.

Sporting director Sebastian Kehl said: "After some bad luck with injuries at the beginning of his time here in Dortmund, Felix has become a very important part of our team.

“His ability to cover ground and overcome opponents makes him extremely valuable to us in the center of the pitch, and he always finds creative solutions, even under pressure.

“He brings incredible quality to the field – both for us and for the German national team. We are convinced that his development curve will continue to rise in the future."

Nmecha was previously linked with a return to Man City as well as moves to Man United and Chelsea before signing.
