AC Milan midfielder Modric responds directly to Real Madrid rumours

AC Milan midfielder Luka Modric has ruled out a return to Real Madrid.

After Sunday's derby win against Inter Milan, Modric responded directly about rumours linking him with a return to Madrid this summer.

It's been suggested Milan coach Max Allegri is wanted by Real Madrid and has informed intermediaries he wants to see Modric appointed as his assistant.

However, the former Real veteran said: "Allegri and I at Real Madrid? The rumors are always there, but I'm not interested. I'm very happy here in Milan."

Allegri has also ruled out leaving Milan.

He insisted: "I'm happy at Milan and I have a contract until 2027."
