Kane set to be handed new 3400K per week contract at Bayern ahead of summer window
Harry Kane is set for a new contract at Bayern Munich as the club tries to hold on to their top striker.
Kane is currently on 30 Bundesliga goals in 2025/26 and has 130 goals in 133 games for the German giants who are keen to hold on to the England captain ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Sun report that Bayern are keen to tie him down for a few more years and are prepared to increase his 3400K per week salary, which would make Kane the highest-paid player in the league by some distance.
Kane, Tottenham Hotspur and England’s all-time leading goalscorer is arguably the best striker on the planet, and it would not be surprising if Bayern allow him some leeway in negotiations as he tries to earn his worth at the club.
Interestingly, he chose not to exercise an option in his contract to activate a release clause that expired at the end of January as Bayern prepare to offer him a major salary bump.
The England star is keen to beat Robert Lewandowski’s 41 goal record for Bayern in the 2020/21 campaign and revealed that he is preparing for the final stretch of the season.
“I don’t really look at the records themselves and say to myself: ‘I want to break this record now’.
“What I do is: I break the games down into stages. For example, from now until the (March) international break. We have five games then. Then I ask myself: Can I score five goals? Or another number?
“I look at the specific games. Some might be tougher, for example in the Champions League, and then there are games where you think: Okay, I can definitely score a few goals there, especially if we have a few home games. That’s how I break it down – and less by simply looking at Lewandowski’s record or four braces in a row, or whatever. I don’t look at that, but at what I think I should achieve. Sometimes I aim for more goals, sometimes for fewer. But I always try to set myself goals for every five or six games.”
