Ferguson back in Brighton as Roma management debate permanent deal
Evan Ferguson may've played his last game for Roma.
On0 a season-long loan from Brighton, the Republic of Ireland striker is back on the south coast of England this week.
Ferguson is visiting Brighton's medical chiefs, with the centre-forward having been battling an ankle injury for the past fortnight.
It's been suggested the injury is so serious that he may require surgery. He has already been ruled out of Ireland's World Cup playoff qualifiers.
Meanwhile, La Repubblica says Roma are undecided over a permanent deal for Ferguson. His loan arrangement includes a €40m permanent option.
While plagued by injury and having come in for public criticism from coach Gian Piero Gasperini, there remains some inside Roma who are arguing that Ferguson should be kept on long-term.
This season, Ferguson has made 16 league appearances so far, including 10 starts, for a total of 776 minutes played, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
