In a disappointing 2-1 defeat against bottom-placed Wolves, Liverpool's hopes of entering the top four took a significant blow. Under coach Arne Slot, several players, including Virgil van Dijk, underperformed throughout the match.

7M - Player Ratings: Liverpool vs Wolves

Goalkeepers & Defense

Alisson Becker (4/10): Did not save a shot before conceding to Gomes and was culpable for a poor pass leading to Wolves' winning goal.

Jeremie Frimpong (5/10): Returned from injury but struggled to make an impact, lacking accuracy in his final passes.

Ibrahima Konate (5/10): Unbothered until Wolves' goal, he allowed Rodrigo Gomes too much space.

Virgil van Dijk (4/10): Played calmly until easily beaten by Arokodare, allowing the crucial goal to be scored.

Milos Kerkez (5/10): Tried to support the attack but appeared fatigued, leading to his substitution.

Midfield

Ryan Gravenberch (3/10): Received an unnecessary yellow card and was subbed off at halftime due to reckless play.

Alexis Mac Allister (5/10): One of the few bright spots in the first half, but his performance declined as the match progressed.

Dominik Szoboszlai (5/10): Less active than usual but managed to recover possession effectively.

Attack

Mohamed Salah (5/10): Scored to equalize from a bad pass but was otherwise ineffective and squandered a good counter-attack soon after.

Hugo Ekitike (6/10): Provided a good attacking threat, although he lacked support and was visibly frustrated.

Cody Gakpo (4/10): Initially the best attacking option but faded in the second half.

Substitutes & Manager

Curtis Jones (5/10): Came on due to Gravenberch’s indiscipline but narrowly missed scoring.

Rio Ngumoha (6/10): Offered more direct threat upon his introduction but was unlucky to hit the post.

Andy Robertson (5/10): Provided stability without adding much dynamism.

Joe Gomez (N/A): Came on late and inadvertently deflected a speculative shot into his own net for Wolves’ winner.

Federico Chiesa (N/A): Brought on to try and change the game, his late attempt was easily saved.

Arne Slot (3/10): The team looked lethargic in the first half, indicating ongoing issues with player motivation and mental readiness. Although they improved in the second half, the late loss only deepened doubts about the team's mentality and direction this season.
