Ex-PSG icon Marco Verratti set for Italy recall

Former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti is reportedly set to be handed a recall by Italy manager Gennaro Gattuso.

The now 33-year-old has been out of favour since leaving PSG for Qatari side Al Arabi back in September 2023.

Veratti, still playing in Qatar with Al Duhail, could now be set to return to international for the first time since leaving Europe.

According to NicolF2 Schira, the bridge between Verratti and the Italian national team has been rebuilt ahead of their World Cup qualifiers.

Italy will face Northern Ireland in their qualifier on March 26th as they hope to make it to this summer’s tournament.
