7M - Galatasaray edge Juventus to reach Champions League last 16

Galatasaray advanced to the Champions League last 16 after a dramatic second leg against Juventus, despite surrendering a three‑goal aggregate lead at the Nou Camp? No, at home? The Turkish side somehow struck back in extra time, with Victor Osimhen and Baris Yilmaz scoring in extra time to seal a 3-2 defeat on the night and a 7-5 aggregate victory.

Juventus had taken the lead on the night through a Manuel Locatelli penalty in the 37th minute, before Lloyd Kelly's red card changed the complexion of the tie. The referee initially showed a second yellow, then overruled it on review to produce a straight red for dangerous play, a decision which sparked controversy on the sideline. Federico Gatti then pulled one back for Juve, and Weston McKennie later levelled the tie with a header, forcing extra time.
In the extra period, Edon Zhegrova flashed a late chance wide for Gala, but Osimhen scored with a precise finish to restore the Turkish side's advantage, followed by Yilmaz sealing the outcome with another goal. Gala had previously invested heavily in their squad, including a big move to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli. Gala's vice‑president Abdullah Kavukcu had spoken bullishly about strengthening the team further, though on the night the focus was on securing progress rather than fresh deals.
Gala now prepare for the next round, with potential opponents including Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur, as they attempt to build on a historic run to the knockout stages. Juventus, meanwhile, exit with a painful defeat after pushing hard but coming up just short.
