Figo: Could Mourinho make Real Madrid coaching return...?

Real Madrid great Luis Figo can see Jose Mourinho taking charge of Portugal.

Currently coach of Benfica, Mourinho has been mentioned as a successor for Roberto Martinez with Portugal after the World Cup.

Figo worked with Mourinho in three different periods: when the coach was Sir Bobby Robson's translator at Sporting Lisbon, then as assistant coach at FC Barcelona —under both Robson and Louis Van Gaal —and finally as manager at Inter Milan in the final years of his playing career.

"That's a lot of time with Jos9, and I think it's logical that one day he's destined to have the opportunity to coach the Portuguese national team," he said.

Regarding a possible return of Mourinho to Real Madrid, Figo was cautious: “That will be decided by fate. If their paths cross, we'll have to see how it works out,” he commented, not ruling out the option but without elaborating.
