7M - UEFA Provisional Suspension for Prestianni Ahead of Real Madrid Clash

Gianluca Prestianni has been provisionally suspended by UEFA due to an incident involving discriminatory remarks made during the Champions League match between Benfica and Real Madrid. This suspension means that the Argentine winger will miss the crucial return leg against Real Madrid.

Prestianni was accused of making a racist comment toward Vinicius Junior, leading to UEFA's swift action following the appointment of an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector to investigate the matter. The suspension prohibits him from participating in the next UEFA club competition match he would otherwise be eligible for.
In the first leg held at Estádio da Luz, Benfica fell 1-0 to Real Madrid, and they will now have to compete without Prestianni as they attempt to overturn this deficit at home. Arsenal's Eze scored twice in a separate match, helping his team maintain their title push.
UEFA emphasized that the decision followed the Inspector's interim report regarding the alleged discriminatory behavior, aligning with Article 14 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.
With Benfica needing to recover from this loss, the absence of Prestianni could significantly impact their chances in the upcoming match against the Spanish giants.
