7M - Gyokeres Credits Team Meeting for Arsenal's Spurs Dominance

Viktor Gyokeres emphasized the importance of an honest team meeting in the lead-up to Arsenal's impressive 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Following a disappointing draw with Wolverhampton, where they let a 2-0 lead slip, Arsenal's players addressed their frustrations openly, which Gyokeres believes was crucial in turning their form around.

With Manchester City narrowing the gap at the top of the Premier League to just two points after defeating Newcastle, Arsenal responded perfectly in the north London derby. Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze both scored twice, marking Arsenal's biggest away league win over Spurs since a 5-0 victory in December 1978.
Since joining Arsenal from Coventry, Gyokeres has found his stride, leading all Premier League players with eight goals in 2026 across all competitions. However, he focused on the collective effort, stating, "It's important to express feelings and let it all out in the group."
"This open communication helps us understand each other's emotions," Gyokeres added. "When you speak honestly, you foster improvement. It was a constructive discussion, and now we're gearing up for a challenging match against Chelsea next weekend."
Despite having played one more game than Manchester City, Arsenal remains strong favorites for the title, with an 83.4% chance as calculated by Opta's supercomputer.
