Not Barcelona? Elche coach Sarabia declares his ultimate club target

Elche coach Eder Sarabia admits his biggest career ambition is to take charge of Athletic Bilbao.

Sarabia has been a big success story in LaLiga this season and despite being a former Barcelona assistant coach, he admits Athletic is where he'd like to coach most.

He explained to Estadio Deportivo: "If I say no, I'd be lying, but I can also say that it's not something I spend much time on.

"Lately, I've been focusing on the day-to-day, on being happy, on being better every day, on enjoying where I am, and the truth is, I'm very happy here. Obviously, if you ask me if I'd like to coach Athletic Bilbao in my playing career, then of course I'd say yes."

However, he was full of praise for the leader of the Lions ' project: Ernesto Valverde.

He also said, "'Txingu' is surely the best coach in Athletic's history.

"He deserves all my admiration and respect. It's true that the team hasn't been at its best lately, but it has the ability, like few other teams, to reinvent itself because of its love for Athletic, because of the respect the players have for such a great coach, because of the fans, and because of absolutely everything.

"So, I wish him all the best. That's not the point, nor am I thinking about that."
