7M - BELL TOLLS: Jude Bellingham to Miss England’s Final Camp Before World Cup

Jude Bellingham is set to miss England's final training camp in March ahead of the World Cup due to an injury that is worse than initially thought. The 22-year-old midfielder has not played since leaving the pitch in tears during Real Madrid's 2-1 LaLiga victory over Rayo Vallecano on February 1.

Initially expected to return for the Getafe derby on March 2, Bellingham's recovery timeline has been pushed back. England manager Thomas Tuchel expressed uncertainty last week about the star's availability for the upcoming friendlies against Uruguay and Japan in March. Recent reports from Spain suggest he may not be ready to play until early April.
Bellingham will also miss both legs of the Champions League playoff against Benfica, starting with the away match on Tuesday. If Real Madrid progresses, he is likely to be absent for the last-16 tie, which could potentially pit them against Manchester City.
Former Borussia Dortmund player Bellingham started England's last match, a 2-0 victory in Albania in November, which helped secure a perfect record in World Cup qualifying. However, that was his only start since a qualifier against Andorra last June, as a shoulder injury kept him out of international matches in September and October.
Regarding Bellingham's fitness, Tuchel stated, "The club is a bit more defensive on the outlook regarding his recovery. Jude is determined and professional; he will try everything to be with us in March. We're in contact and wish him all the best. It is a little race against time. Personally, I am optimistic, but I am not sure."
