In a dramatic Derby d'Italia, Inter Milan triumphed over Juventus 3-2, but the match was marred by the contentious red card issued to Pierre Kalulu.

The officiating decision and VAR's failure to overturn it became hot topics in this vital title race clash.
Following the defeat, Juventus expressed their outrage. Chief executive Damien Comolli spoke out, stating, "It was a total injustice. Juve has lost three points, but Italian football has suffered even more. The message to our fans is, I apologize for what they witnessed. We cannot compete under these conditions. We stand united against this injustice and will not give in."
In response, Serie A refereeing chief Gianluca Rocchi admitted the error, expressing regret that VAR could not intervene. "We deeply regret the incident; La Penna's decision was clearly wrong," he stated. He also acknowledged La Penna's emotional state and mentioned other questionable moments, including what he termed as a simulation by Bastoni.
