Girona coach Michel admits Premier League ambitions

Girona coach Michel admits he wants to work in the Premier League.

MDchel took over Girona in the summer of 2021. After several great years, they made it to the Champions League last season.

This season has been tougher and the team is currently in twelfth place in La Liga.

Now MDchel says that the Premier League is a competition that attracts him, even though he is happy in Girona.

"Im learning English in case the opportunity arises: it's a league where the stadiums, fans and clubs are incredible, it's a league that's very appealing," he told Cadena SER.

Girona will face Barcelona in the next match. MDchel takes the opportunity to praise coach Hansi Flick , but also Atl9tico Madrid coach Diego Simeone .

"For me, the best thing about Atletico Madrid is that Cholo (Simeone) has been there for 14 years and the best thing about Bar7a is Flick and how he understands his players," he continued.

"I really liked what I've seen of Xabi (Alonso) as a coach, but I don't know if he's been able to develop his ideas as he would have liked."

Michel has been mentioned as a potential successor for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Girona's Premier League partners.
