According to Independent journalist Miguel Delaney, Manchester United's leadership is increasingly contemplating the permanent appointment of Michael Carrick as the club's manager this summer.

In his latest Inside Football newsletter, Delaney noted that Carrick's name is prominent in discussions following Thomas Tuchel's decision to extend his contract with England, keeping him as Three Lions manager until 2028. Tuchel had previously been viewed as a strong candidate for the Old Trafford position.
Under Carrick, Manchester United has enjoyed a resurgence, recording four wins and one draw in their last five Premier League matches, with noticeable improvements in team performance. However, his appointment is not guaranteed; the club may require Champions League qualification by the end of the season for him to be considered for the role.
United's next match is on February 23, where they will face Everton in Merseyside, followed by fixtures against Crystal Palace and Newcastle United. Currently sitting fourth in the league, they have several teams closely pursuing them as they approach the final stretch of the season.
Carrick is eager to maximize points in these upcoming matches and relies on his players to maintain their impressive form.
