‘He's negotiating' - Rodri's dad opens up on Man City star's future

Rodri's father has revealed the midfielder is in talks with Man City over a new deal but refused to rule out a potential exit.

The 29-year-old appears to have put his injury issues behind him and has once again become a key player under Pep Guardiola.

Rodri’s current deal with Man City is set to expire in the summer of 2027 with links to Real Madrid refusing to go away.

Speaking at an awards ceremony in Madrid, Rodri's father, Antonio Hernandez, addressed the speculation surrounding his son’s future.

"If I said something I would have to kill you," he joked.

"I can't say anything. He's very comfortable where he is. It's possible he doesn't know it (where he will play) yet. He is negotiating. But I know nothing. History has yet to be written."
