7M - Arbeloa Advises Real Madrid to Part with 'Underperforming' Liverpool Target

Although Alvaro Arbeloa may not remain in charge at Real Madrid beyond this summer, he has allegedly recommended the club sell one of its players. The Spanish coach was installed as interim manager until the conclusion of the season.

Arbeloa's tenure has been tumultuous thus far, yet he guided the team to a fourth consecutive La Liga victory on Sunday. His side secured a 2-0 win against Valencia at the Mestalla, closing the gap to leaders Barcelona to just one point.

Publicly, Arbeloa has been fiercely protective of his squad, but privately he appears to have lost faith in one member. His evaluation of Eduardo Camavinga could prove advantageous to Liverpool.

Real Madrid Urged to Offload Camavinga

Madrid are anticipated to acquire one or two central midfielders in the upcoming transfer window, which could create a ripple effect. Camavinga has experienced an inconsistent season, with his most notable performance occurring at left-back during a 6-1 victory over AS Monaco.

According to Spanish media reports (via Football 365), Arbeloa has concluded that the French midfielder "will not wear the Real Madrid shirt again." It is alleged that a price tag has already been established for a potential sale, with the Spaniard counseling the club to consider bids starting at €50 million, plus an additional €20 million in achievable bonuses.

This position is reportedly due to Camavinga "not performing at the expected standard." Arbeloa has reportedly communicated his dissatisfaction with the 23-year-old to the club's hierarchy.

Camavinga has been on Liverpool's shortlist, and the Premier League side is now rumored to be the "frontrunner" to secure his signature this summer. The Reds, who have struggled this season, are allegedly preparing a potential "official bid."

Real Madrid Show Interest in Liverpool Star

This speculation regarding Camavinga's potential departure emerges alongside reports that Madrid are monitoring Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai. Sources indicate that the La Liga powerhouse, along with Manchester City, is observing the Hungarian's contractual status.

Szoboszlai has been the standout performer for the defending Premier League champions this season and scored a remarkable free-kick in their 2-1 defeat to City on Sunday. The 25-year-old will enter the final two years of his contract this summer and is reportedly seeking to become one of the highest-paid players at Anfield.

A potential move for Szoboszlai appears improbable given his significance in Arne Slot's squad. However, should he fail to agree on terms for a new deal, an opportunity could arise. He has recorded nine goals and seven assists in 34 appearances across all competitions this season, with his versatility allowing him to feature at right-back as well as in midfield.
