7M - Match Preview: Chelsea vs Leeds United - Predictions, Team News, Lineups
Posted Monday, February 09, 2026 by 7M Sport
Chelsea aims to extend their winning streak in the Premier League under Liam Rosenior as they host Leeds United at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening.
Since Rosenior's arrival, Chelsea has won all four of their top-flight matches. Leeds, however, also enters the match in decent form, having secured three victories in their last four games.

Match Analysis
Chelsea appears to have turned a corner after struggling for form prior to Rosenior's appointment, where they failed to win any of their previous five league matches (D3, L2). The new manager successfully navigated a challenging series of London derbies, defeating Brentford (2-0), Crystal Palace (3-1), and West Ham United (3-2). Their most recent win came against Wolves at Molineux, where Cole Palmer's first-half hat-trick contributed to a 3-1 victory.
This win was a strong response to their elimination from the EFL Cup following a 4-2 aggregate defeat to Arsenal. Currently positioned fifth in the Premier League, Chelsea is just one point shy of the top four and four points clear of sixth-placed Liverpool. A win on Tuesday would not only bolster their Champions League ambitions but also make Rosenior the first Chelsea manager since Maurizio Sarri to win his first three home league games in charge.
However, Chelsea must overcome past challenges on midweek matches, having not won any of their three such outings this season (D2, L1), including a 3-1 defeat at Elland Road in December.
Leeds, aiming for their first league double over Chelsea since the 1991-92 title-winning season, comes to London following a 3-1 victory over Burnley. The Whites started strong, racing to a three-goal lead courtesy of Jayden Bogle, Noah Okafor, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, before a late consolation goal from Lorenzo Lucca.
Despite a heavy loss to league leaders Arsenal in their previous match, Leeds has shown marked improvement, recording only two losses in their last 12 league games (W4, D6). Daniel Farke's team has climbed to 16th in the table, six points clear of relegation, and will look to further distance themselves with a positive result.
However, Leeds' away form poses a concern, with seven losses in their 12 Premier League away games. They also have a poor record at Stamford Bridge, remaining winless in their last seven league visits and losing the last six, with their last top-flight win at Chelsea dating back to 1999.
Projected Lineups
Chelsea Possible Starting XI:
Sanchez; Gusto, Fofana, Chalobah, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Estevao, Palmer, Neto; J Pedro
Leeds United Possible Starting XI:
Darlow; Rodon, Struijk, Justin; Bogle, Aaronson, Ampadu, Gruev, Gudmundsson; Calvert-Lewin, Okafor
Prediction: Chelsea 3-1 Leeds United
We predict Chelsea to win 3-1 against Leeds United. Like Chelsea, Leeds has struggled in midweek fixtures, failing to win any of their last seven and this trend may continue. The Blues should secure all three points, knowing the importance of maintaining momentum as they fight for Champions League qualification.
