SPL want Salah to replace Ronaldo; 1.2M-a-year offer prepared
The Saudi Pro League (SPL) are ready to make Mohamed Salah their new figurehead for next season.
The Liverpool Echo says the SPL are ready to see Al-Nassr sell Cristiano Ronaldo this summer and bring in Salah from Liverpool to headline the competition.
Ronaldo is on his way out after angering SPL chiefs having gone on strike for the past two games. The Portugal captain has taken action in protest over a lack of transfer funds afforded to Al-Nassr compared to Al-Hilal by the Public Investment Fund.
Salah is now being lined up as Ronaldo's replacement, with SPL planning to offer to treble his current 3400,000-a-week wages.
The deal will be worth an initial 31.2m-a-week - plus bonuses - to convince Salah to make the move this summer.
Salah will turn 34 in June and his deal with Liverpool runs to 2027.
