DONE DEAL: Sturm Graz land Aston Villa striker Wilson

Sturm Graz have signed Aston Villa striker Rory Wilson.

The Scot moves to Sturm Graz on-loan to the end of the season.

Wilson penned a new contract with Villa last summer.

“I’ve heard a lot about Sturm through Max Johnston, a big club in Austria with great fans, where young players get a chance,” Wilson said.

“It was clear to me right away that I absolutely wanted to seize this opportunity. I’m really looking forward to getting to know the team and working hard together to win as many games as possible.”

Sturm Graz sporting director Michael Parensen said: "Rory Wilson is a highly talented young striker we've been following for some time.

“His strengths lie primarily in his play between the lines, his positioning in the penalty area, and his finishing, thus adding another dimension to our attack.

“We're looking forward to an exciting young player who will prove what he's capable of in the coming months."
