7M - 'Unique Influence': Fernandes Praises Carrick's Effect on Manchester United's Form

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has commended the immediate impact of interim manager Michael Carrick, highlighting the positive shift in atmosphere at the club following four straight victories under his guidance.
Fernandes was on the scoresheet as United secured a 2-0 home win against a Tottenham Hotspur side reduced to ten men this past Saturday, a result that strengthened their position in the Premier League's top four.
Carrick remains unbeaten across seven matches during two separate stints as United's temporary manager.
The former United midfielder had stated prior to the weekend that the club's leadership should not hasten the appointment of a permanent manager. Nevertheless, the team's results and displays since the departure of Ruben Amorim last month are building a compelling argument for the former Middlesbrough manager to be offered a contract extending past the current campaign.
"The energy is different when you are winning matches, and everything seems brighter," Fernandes told TNT Sports. "Michael came in with the correct approach, granting the players more accountability and liberty on the field. I always believed he had the potential to be an excellent manager, and he is proving it. We hope to continue delivering for him."
He added, "Everyone is aware of the pressure that comes with representing this club and the expectations surrounding it. He understands precisely what winning means here. That brings a unique element to the squad."
This latest win brings United to within two points of third-placed Aston Villa and establishes a gap between themselves and the teams below them in the race for Champions League qualification. A finish within the top five is anticipated to secure a place in next season's competition, owing to the strong coefficient performance of English clubs in Europe this season.
United now hold a five-point advantage over sixth-placed Liverpool, who are set to face title contenders Manchester City on Sunday.
