Posted Friday, February 06, 2026 by 7M Sport
Chelsea travels to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers as they aim to bolster their top-five position in the Premier League this Saturday.
This is the first meeting since November, when Chelsea secured a 3-0 victory.

Match Preview
Following a 3-2 first-leg defeat to Chelsea in the EFL Cup semi-final, the Blues lost 1-0 to Arsenal in the reverse fixture. Head coach Liam Rosenior has shown his tactical capabilities but faced a setback with a last-minute goal by Kai Havertz.
Despite this, Rosenior has guided Chelsea to six wins in his first eight matches, including three Premier League victories that have lifted them to fifth in the table, just one point behind Manchester United.
Chelsea previously beat Wolves 4-3 (EFL Cup) and 3-0 (Premier League) this season, with the Blues last scoring three or more goals against the same opponent in a single season during the 2016-17 campaign.
Wolverhampton started 2026 with a four-match unbeaten streak but has since lost back-to-back games 2-0 to Manchester City and Bournemouth. They are now 18 points from safety and face the looming threat of relegation.
Goals have been scarce for Wolves, failing to score in their last three Premier League matches. They hold the highest ratio of scoreless games this season, with 54% of their matches ending without a goal.
At Molineux, they have struggled offensively, scoring just four goals in their last seven home league matches. Their past encounters against Chelsea have also been challenging, with Wolves conceding 12 goals and scoring just three in their last three games against them.
Team News
Wolves' defender Toti Gomes is out with a hamstring injury, while Ladislav Krejci is a doubt due to illness. Newly signed Adam Armstrong will compete for a starting position up front alongside Hwang Hee-chan.
Chelsea will be without several players, including Jamie Gittens and Levi Colwill due to injury, as well as Mykhaylo Mudryk, who is suspended. Reece James and Pedro Neto missed the midweek match against Arsenal, and their availability remains uncertain.
Cole Palmer and Estevao Willian are both ready for a full match after coming off the bench in the last game.
Possible Starting Lineups
Wolverhampton Wanderers: Sa; Mosquera, Bueno, Krejci; Tchatchoua, Andre, Mane, J. Gomes, H. Bueno; Hwang, Armstrong
Chelsea: Sanchez; James, Chalobah, Fofana, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Estevao, Palmer, Garnacho; Pedro
Prediction: Chelsea 3-1 Wolves
We predict a 3-1 victory for Chelsea. Wolves have struggled to score in the second half in their last ten home matches. A strong first-half performance will be critical for Wolves if they hope to claim an upset against the Blues. Given Chelsea's recent form, they are expected to secure all three points on the road.
