Sevilla chief Cordon explains ruling out Ramos signing
Sevilla sports chief Antonio Cordon has ruled out dealing in Sergio Ramos.
As Ramos continues to negotiate the takeover of Sevilla, it's been raised that the Real Madrid legend could be signed as a player for the remainder of the season.
Cordon said, “Our priority was a striker; we never considered signing a centre-back. It was essential to have more firepower.
"We don't have the money to bring anyone in. Could someone put up the money and act as a guarantor? I don't get involved with anyone's money.
"I haven't heard anything from Sergio, but since there's no financial possibility—because there's no limit—I prefer not to think about it because it's like trying to buy a car without any money.”
Cordon also said: "Sevilla is a very big club, how could it not have a future? It's one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and opportunities open up for Sevilla very easily.
"The intention is to revive this club. I think we're going to gradually improve things; we've only been here eight months, and there are clubs where I've been for 17 years. The commitment is huge.”
