Sesko says Man Utd work rate better under Carrick against Fulham

Manchester United hero Benjamin Sesko, fresh from scoring a dramatic winner in a 3-2 thriller against Fulham, praised Michael Carrick for improving the “work rate” across the squad.

The Red Devils have now claimed maximum points from three games under their interim coach, following Carrick’s appointment after Ruben Amorim’s departure.

Darren Fletcher briefly managed two matches, during which United suffered an FA Cup exit at a 111-year low.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Sesko highlighted Carrick’s encouragement for the team to play with more freedom, a strategy that has coincided with an impressive resurgence in results and morale at Old Trafford.

“It's true, he has said these things many times to the team. That's exactly what we are doing,” he said.

“But it's not just that, you can see how much we work hard for each other without the ball and that also contributes to good results in the end.

“The work rate is definitely different. Everyone is on point and covering their spaces. In the end, that's what counts.”
