Buckwitz secured gold at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang and is pursuing a second Olympic title at the 2026 Games in Milan Cortina. Rising expenses related to equipment, coaching, and team support prompted her to seek alternative funding beyond traditional sponsorships.

In an interview with German publication Bild, she stated: "It's a stroke of luck for me, as it allows me to finance my team. It's the best thing that could have happened to me."

She acknowledged the challenges faced by athletes despite Olympic success: "It's a bit sad that I can't just focus on my competitive sport. Sure, I'm an Olympic champion. But nobody's interested in Lisa Buckwitz just because of the gold medal. That's unfortunately the downside."

Buckwitz emphasized that her OnlyFans content would not include explicit material. She also serves in the German Armed Forces, which provides additional financial support for her sporting endeavors. Previously, she appeared nude on the cover of Playboy Germany to advocate for natural body image.

Upon launching her account, she explained her intentions: "This platform allows me to connect with fans on a personal level and share what it means to compete at the highest level—the daily training, team dynamics, and personal milestones that often go unseen. I'll share fitness routines, nutrition guidance, competition preparation, and pre-race rituals."

Beyond her Olympic achievements, Buckwitz claimed the world championship title in the two-woman bobsleigh event in Winterberg, Germany, in 2024, and earned bronze in the Monobob discipline.
