Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle and Spurs find out next UCL opponents

The Premier League sides have done very well so far in the Champions League and 5 have automatically qualified for the next round.

Arsenal maintained their perfect record with a 3-2 victory over Kairat Almaty this week and topped the group in style. The Gunners will next face one of Atalanta, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund or Olympiacos in what is an easy selection for the North London side.

Fellow North Londoners Tottenham won 2-0 away at Eintracht Frankfurt and join Liverpool who beat Qarabag 6-0. Both teams could face Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Club Brugge or Galatasaray in the next stage.

Meanwhile, Manchester City snatched a 2-0 victory over Galatasaray and will be drawn against one of Real Madrid, Inter, Bodo/Glimt or Benfica in what is a tough test for manager Pep Guardiola.

Newcastle are the only English side to have missed out on a top-eight finish but go into the knockout phase play-offs as one of the seeded sides, having finished 12th. The Magpies face either Monaco or Qarabag in a two-legged tie to decide if they will join their Premier League rivals in the last 16.

Finally, Chelsea beat Napoli 3–2 thanks to an excellent performance from Joao Pedro as they finished 6th. The Blues will now face Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Qarabag or Newcastle in the round of 16.

The draw for the play-offs takes place on Friday afternoon as the majority of English clubs await to see what teams face each other ahead of the next round.
