Real Madrid hero Joselu believes Alvaro Arbeloa has lifted the spirit inside the dressing room.

Now with Al Gharafa, Joselu played with Arbeloa during his first spell at Real Madrid.

The Champions League winner told Marca: "In a locker room, there are 25 people with different egos, personalities, and stages of life. Group management is fundamental.

"Arbeloa is giving the players freedom, and it shows. I see them happier, and they're responding.

“You arrive at Real Madrid and you might play five minutes or come off the bench, but you always have to contribute.”

On how Real's players must handle the scrutiny from the local media, Joselu also said: "When things go wrong, stories always come out that aren't true . That hurts, because players also have lives and problems like anyone else.”
