Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of 19-year-old Brazilian full-back Souza from Santos for a fee of €15 million.
The highly-rated defender, who enjoyed a breakout 2025 season with 24 senior appearances for Santos, has emerged as a potential candidate for Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil squad ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
"This is a childhood dream," said Souza upon his presentation. "I grew up watching the Premier League and can't wait to get started. It's a huge step for my development."
Souza will provide direct competition for Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence on Tottenham's left flank, with his attacking prowess and maturity seen as assets for the club's present and future.

From Debutant to Star in One Year
Souza’s progression has been meteoric. After debuting for the Santos first team in January 2024, his true breakout came in 2025—the year he established himself in the Brazilian Serie A, racking up 24 official appearances. His performances have not gone unnoticed; in Brazil, there is already speculation that he could be included in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the upcoming World Cup.
