Romero's late goal saves Spurs (Burnley 2-2 Tottenham)

Cristian Romero's 90th-minute header secured a 2-2 draw for Tottenham at Turf Moor, sparing under-pressure boss Thomas Frank a defeat against second-bottom Burnley. The result was met with boos from away supporters, as Spurs have now won only twice in their last 14 league games.

Despite a midweek Champions League win over Dortmund, Tottenham failed to carry that momentum into the Premier League, remaining without a league win in 2026. They sit 13th, eight points above the relegation zone ahead of a daunting February schedule featuring Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle, and Arsenal.
Burnley looked set for their first league win since October after substitute Lyle Foster's 74th-minute strike completed a comeback, following Axel Tuanzebe's first-half equaliser to cancel out Micky van de Ven's opener. However, Romero's late intervention extended Burnley's own winless run to 14 games, leaving Scott Parker's side seven points from safety.
Frank: "We should have won"
Thomas Frank told Sky Sports his side created enough to win, but were let down by conceding "goals we can never ever concede." He praised the character shown for the late equaliser but acknowledged the need for goals from other sources beyond defenders.
