Manchester United confirmed on Thursday that veteran midfielder Casemiro will exit the club this summer following the conclusion of his current agreement.
In an official statement, the club announced, "Casemiro will leave Manchester United this summer, upon the expiry of his contract." The tribute continued, "The iconic midfielder has spent four seasons with United, featuring in 146 matches and contributing 21 goals to date."
The 33-year-old Brazilian, who joined from Real Madrid in a high-profile £70 million transfer in 2022, played a pivotal role during his tenure. A defining moment came in the 2023 Carabao Cup final, where his opening goal helped secure victory over Newcastle United, contributing to a season that saw the team finish third in the Premier League.

Speculation regarding his position at the club intensified last year following comments from new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who indicated that certain squad members were "not up to standard" and received excessive wages.
Addressing his impending departure, Casemiro emphasized his commitment to the remainder of the campaign. "This is not the moment for farewells; we have many more memories to build over the next four months," he stated.
"We still have significant objectives to fight for collectively. My full attention, as always, will be on dedicating myself entirely to helping our club achieve success," the Brazilian international added.
